Transfer Printing

Digital Transfers.

Digital Transfer printing is a technique that can be used on the vast majority of clothing and apparel. It is a technique for reproducing full colour, photographic designs and/or logos which are then be "transferred" to the garments using a dedicated heat press.

Unlike screen printing, transfer prints require very little in the way of pre-production therefore costs are kept to a minimum allowing you to print from as little as 1 item with a design comprised of any number of colours at a price which won't break the bank.

The following prices are for producing transfer prints on just one garment.

Garment A5 Print A4 Print A3 Print
White Tee £4.95 £6.25 £9.45 per position
Dark Tee £6.95 £8.25 £11.45 per position
NOTE: COMPLEX DESIGNS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DARK GARMENTS

Things to know about Digital Transfer Printing.

Transfer printing will provide fantastic results but it does have its limitations. By far and away the best results are acheived when printing on white (or very light) coloured garments. Light coloured garments require no underbase in order for the colours in your designs to look vibrant. Your designs can be as complex as you want them to be as the negative space, (the empty areas of the design), will not be visable and so the final print will always feel soft and look natural on the garment.

This is not the same when transfer printing onto dark garments. Although the process is very much the same, designs printed on dark coloured fabrics need an underbase so that the colours in the artwork are accurately depicted. This means that complex designs with a lot of negative space are not a good idea as the finished result will look and feel unnatural. For the best results, designs for transfer printing onto dark garments should be set in a clearly defined boundary, this way the negative space can be eliminated entirely thus providing a natural looking finish.

All designs should be supplied in Hi Resolution format for best results.
